The great danger in historical revisionism is the potential for future generations to make the same mistake. Abraham Lincoln and Franklin Delano Roosevelt were no friends to the US Constitution, but few Americans know this fact. Even more egregious is the dearth of Constitutional knowledge in America. However, that is changing, which does not bode well for the Obama Administration.
Never in our country’s history have Americans witnessed the travesty of such an anti-constitutional administration and congress. And a great deal of the responsibility falls on both major political parties and the media. However, there are others, including American voters who refuse to intelligently discuss the issues and critically analyze what the administration is doing. As a result, the likelihood of another civil war or second revolution increases with each passing day and each new power-grab by the Obama administration.
This past week, while garnering the largest market share of any news media outlet, Glenn Beck painstakingly analyzed what the Obama administration is really all about and what it is actually doing. There hasn’t been one White House denial. At the end of the week, Beck presented five questions Americans should ask their politicians. Questions based in our Constitution. Glenn suggested in the strongest terms that Americans ask their political representatives each of the questions and then following-up with the question “Are you in or out?” And if the representative is not on board with the questions, then Americans need to vote them “out” in the 2010 elections.
Although I completely concur with Mr. Beck with respect to his analysis of this administration and the previous one (Beck is no fan of Bush spending, etc.), there are a plethora of reasons America will not make it to the mid-term elections in 2010. The analysis of this potential reality and a possible scenario follows.

People are not buying these concepts that are completely foreign to America. We’re almost reaching a revolution in this country. Senator Jim Inhofe
Currently, there are admitted radical Communists serving as Obama’s “czars,” a congressional bill to allow Obama seizure of the internet, and the administration is responsible for nationalization of industry and a blatant attempt to nationalize health care. The Obama administration is engaging in generational warfare and Obama-supporting union members have attacked US citizens participating in Town Hall meetings. There are provisions in Obama’s health care overhaul bill that contain loopholes that will result in health care benefits to illegal aliens, and ACORN registers illegal aliens to benefit the current administration. The government vilifies citizens, talks of mandatory H1N1 vaccination, and federal tax dollars pour into organizations to enable voter fraud. There is an immoral leftist boycott of one of the world’s most socially-conscious companies occurring, and the Democrats have been involved in silencing critics through physical intimidation, lawsuits, refusal to air commercials, and slander — and the list goes on.
To say the majority of Americans are upset about the country’s direction would be a gross understatement. They are pissed-off and willing to take up arms.
The thought of Americans engaging in armed revolt was unthinkable 12 months ago. After SEIU thugs beat-up a man attending a Town Hall meeting, other Americans showed-up at Town Hall meetings armed with semi-automatic weapons — including a meeting the president attended. There hasn’t been a union “beat down” of a Town Hall attendee since. The message is clear: Tyrants and bullies can be dealt with, even if it’s at the “business end” of a firearm.
Although the federal government is monitoring a number of known militia groups, these groups are not a threat to the government. The current threat to the federal government is the average American who realizes the federal threat to his personal freedoms and to his children’s freedoms and financial solvency. Americans are furious. They are not just angry. Moreover, many realize it may take the forceable removal of the Obama administration, as well as its direct and tacit supporters on both sides of the aisle, to restore our freedoms and sanity to Washington. Therefore, what follows is a “potential” scenario, which in no way should be construed as advocating an armed revolt against the federal government.
The Trigger
It’s difficult to pinpoint a particular spark that could or would ignite another civil war or revolution, but certainly mandatory H1N1 vaccination and presidential seizure of the internet are possibilities. It may even be a terrorist attack that many suspect the administration is setting-up the country for in its grand design to impose a dictatorship on the country. However, regardless of what touches-off the growing powder keg, we do know that (1) once angered, it takes a lot to calm Americans and (2) there would be a great deal of collateral damage.
The First Days
Conceivably, within the first days of an armed revolt, numerous politicians, Obama hacks, federal judges, and media members would be killed. Although the president may order active-duty military forces to supplement local law enforcement, it is doubtful that more than 40% of the military would obey his order to shoot American citizens and most of the military’s trained “gun fighters” are otherwise engaged in overseas combat zones. Additionally, many law enforcement personnel would opt to focus on humanitarian aid for those Americans caught in the crossfire versus taking on a well-armed and determined citizenry. Likewise, Obama could expect little to no support from the governors, as federalizing National Guard troops would not be in a state government’s interest when the focus of the revolt is the federal government. Additionally, it is conceivable that media outlets would be seized to enable communications for those Americans in revolt and voice their demands for a general and unconditional surrender of all politicians — including the president. Undoubtedly, Obama would exacerbate the problem by requesting UN assistance in the form of foreign Soldiers when his own Soldiers refused to shoot Americans.
The First Week
As the inevitable food and water shortages began within the large urban areas, the administration would be saddled with responding to this crisis. Additionally, with the seizures of transportation routes, medical supplies would quickly be problematic and the wounded would be dying for lack of medical treatment. Although the administration would likely attempt to harness this for political purposes, the non-existence of media in many areas, the lack of internet access, radio, digital television, and the destruction of key emergency networks would stifle the administration’s attempts to coalesce support from those Americans not involved in the armed revolt. In other words, the country’s communications infrastructure would have its weaknesses revealed and these weaknesses would benefit those in revolt. Meantime, from their areas of refuge, the administration would communicate via secure satellite systems in its attempts to re-establish authority.
The Second Week
After a brief lull in the killing, this period would be remembered as the time of purging. Obama supporters would be summarily executed in their homes and on the streets. Since the administration had gone so far as to seek UN assistance, the general American animosity toward the organization would come to the forefront and, again, this would only exacerbate the anger and trigger more bloodshed. By this point, gasoline is either unavailable or in the hands of those in revolt. The economy would have already ground to a halt, public transportation would be useless, and people would be dying from thirst.
The First Month
By this point, the military would be experiencing the highest desertion rate in its history, as active-duty members sought to ensure the safety of their own families or joined the revolt. Local law enforcement and the state’s National Guards would be providing humanitarian assistance only, and their orders would include not firing on armed Americans and using their own firearms only to defend women and children, having already experienced losses themselves for interfering with summary executions of male Obama supporters. Within the administration, the FBI would be vilified for its failure to understand the totality of American opposition to big government, as exemplified by the Obama administration. University professors would now be targeted for killing, economic collapse would be in full view of the world, the first foreign Soldiers would be on American soil and their dead would already be in the process of repatriation to their respective countries. At the local level, those bureaucrats who had exceeded their authority would also be targeted. Certain states would be sealed-off and its citizens refused access to another state. For example, fleeing Californians could expect to be shot at any eastern border, with their only egress point being Interstate 5 into the western half of Oregon. Since there is no gasoline at this point, the exodus would be on foot. Additionally, the country would be effectively split in half, as Americans from North and South consolidated their hold on the middle of the country in preparation for eastward and westward movement to support the warriors prosecuting the revolt in those areas. The urban areas would be in complete chaos as amoral thugs raped, looted, and burned large sections of the cities. Again, local law enforcement would be so busy with trying to protect people and property that they would not have the resources to put down the revolt. Obama could empty the prisons and attempt to arm any inmate who would support him. The upside to this move is that America would rid itself of a large portion of its prison population as these individuals were gunned-down mercilessly.
The First Six Months
In a last desperate bid to maintain power, Obama would extend peace-feelers to the informal government taking shape across the country. However, with the anarchists dead, the cities burned, local, state, and federal human targets neutralized, and its own inner debate ongoing, the revolutionists would only repeat its demand that Obama surrender himself and any remaining members of his administration and congressional representatives in the House and Senate, in order to stand trial. One of the key focal points of the new government would be enacting laws pertaining to those who had prosecuted the administration’s war against the revolution and, unlike the Revolutionary War where Americans held to Christian principles, Obama and his cohorts would face the very real possibility of being tried under new laws resulting from an internal compromise within the revolutionaries to dispense with the very protections Obama and Congress attempted to strip from Americans. In essence, those who had engaged in Washington’s “status quo” could expect no quarter.
The First Year
By this point, the Americans who had participated in the war would be working alongside local law enforcement and National Guard troops to maintain order, repair infrastructure, ensure logistical hubs were operating unfettered, and prosecuting war criminals on both sides of the conflict — including Obama, his cronies, and the current crop of Congressman and Senators. A new government would be in place and the borders with Mexico and Canada would be sealed completely, with illegal entry met with deadly force. Ports along the Gulf Coast would be receiving oil and supplies, debt repayment to the Chinese and Japanese would be in the process of negotiation, the assets of those who opposed the revolution would have been seized and being used to pay survival wages to those engaged in reconstruction efforts, communication infrastructure would be restored, and special tribunals would be enacted to determine the mainstream media’s complicity in triggering the war.
The Next Five Years
In the aftermath of the war, there would be unprecedented change. Lobbying would be outlawed, free speech would be curtailed in the aspect that certain political entities would no longer enjoy a right to exist (Communist Party USA, Nazi Party, Socialists, etc.), and all Americans would be forced to live within their economic means. Although suspended for the first five years, mortgage payments would resume, but at the current market value of ones home. In other words, banks and large mortgage entities would suffer catastrophic losses on their initial loans. Second Amendment rights would be near sacrosanct and those who had aided and abetted the administration by manipulating media coverage of Obama and Washington would still be enduring trials — and the courts would have the ability to sentence guilty parties to death for the court’s finding the accused had hidden facts from the American people. Churches would also be released from their current constraint on addressing political issues, but radical America-haters like Jeremiah Wright would be tried for treason. Another change to the country’s laws would include executions being carried out by firing squads and a streamlining of the appellate process. Americans in general would return to a time when being a neighbor and helping one another was more important than receiving government largesse. America’s “elitists” would be marginalized or dead (Hollywood, professors, career politicians, etc.), and inner-city youth would be working on public projects for food and shelter, with misbehavior or criminal activity met with summary execution. All “guilty” findings for rape and looting would result in execution, and prisons would house only those currently serving sentences, awaiting trial, or sentenced under a new War Crimes Act. Death Row would be abolished and those that had been awaiting execution would be shot.
Six Years and Beyond
By this point, the dead are buried (approximately 50-70 million), full foreign trade is restored, and true “warriors” command the country’s Title 10 forces. Farms are in the hands of individuals, the free market is established with new regulations, and the people are represented by non-career Congressman and Senators who willingly answer to the people. Those who participated in the revolution have returned home to their families and are re-building their lives, while local law enforcement maintains order. Governors are the backbone of the country’s interstate agreements and the non-essential elements of federal bureaucracy are dismantled (e.g., Department of Education, etc.). The axiom “all politics is local” takes on a new meaning in the country, and Americans actually feel empowered to participate in collective decision making and working with their representatives in D.C. Although the nightmare is far from over (it will take at least another two generations), real hope is restored and people are once again proud of their country and being known as an “American.” Despite the unfortunate sub-war that broke out along racial lines during the revolution, racial tensions are at the lowest they have ever been, because the race-baiters and welfare-pimps are all dead or awaiting execution, and Americans have been universally forced to rebuild alongside their neighbor, regardless of race. Foreign governments that aided and abetted Obama during the war are slowly re-entering normalized relations with the US, and those countries that sent troops to support Obama under the UN mandate had their assets seized to pay for reconstruction, including merchant ships, aircraft, and weapons. Totalitarian regimes around the world are labeled as such by the new American government, and immigration laws are changed to prevent known enemies from attending American universities or entering the country. As a further amendment to Freedom of Religion, those religious entities that refuse to abide by the Constitution and foment sub-cultures and lobby for “religious law” are banned, their assets seized, and said assets distributed to Americans for the “general welfare” — regardless of the recipient’s religious beliefs or lack thereof.
Conclusion
Far fetched? It couldn’t happen here? Maybe and maybe not. However, it would behoove all of America’s “political class” to recognize that an armed citizenry is not to be trifled with or ignored. So, Washington, what is it? Are you in or out?

Your time line seems optimistically (unrealistically) short.
Also, if conservatives see this scenario as even remotely plausible, we had better get started on a revised Constitution for 3 reasons:
1) so that it can, to the extent possible, prevent the same corruptions and usurpations that have occurred since the original;
2) to limit the period of post-war lawlessness;
3) to have something concrete to fight FOR, rather than simply against.
Anyway, kudos for a post that seems more than a little dangerous given current circumstances.

I also concur with you on the three points you raise. The first Revolutionaries laid out their “for” proposals quite meticulously. I think we can build on them by addressing where the government “of the people, by the people, and for the people” has deteriorated and address those areas line by line.
Current circumstances played a role in my post, as it is greatly toned-down from the “known” to the “potential.”

I believe that advocating an armed rebellion against the United States, is not only illegal, but also in violation of the entire idea of having a democratic government. Would you so quickly destroy the legacy that so many thousands of brave men and women fought and died for simply because you’re afraid that you’re going to have to pay more in taxes?

As I recall, the Founding Fathers decided to go to war for the reasons of (1) taxation and (2) an unresponsive tyrannical government (King George). If we’re passing on deficits to unborn Americans, where is their representation? How do they have a say in the matter? I think the Founding Fathers would favor a peaceful solution to the out-of-control “monarchist” politicians on Capitol Hill, as would I. That said, the original post was an exploration of what might be if Americans cannot reason together.

Unborn Americans have no representation because they can not legally vote until age 18. They don’t get a say in this matter. That is in the constitution.

As for the first comment, “so that it can, to the extent possible, prevent the same corruptions and usurpations that have occurred since the original”, writing a “better” Constitution will be fruitless and ultimately we’ll end up back here no matter how well written it is. Why? Because we will still be dealing with broken human beings… the law, no matter how perfect or who wrote it, has never been responsible for goodness in a human being. That is the mistake made throughout history by both ends of the political spectrum.
I would take issue with this. Not with the thought of an upcoming war/revolution. That is written in blood. It’s the ease of the win. You say racial lines in your 6 years and beyond. That is a bit off. Half this country doesn’t pay taxes. The revolution means they will have to carry their share. They will certainly fight the revolution. The welfare whores and their baby daddies are a class issue and represent roughly a quarter of the entire U.S. or 75 million. They are armed and have pit bulls. Roughly 40% of the country is over 55 and will be less than useless. That means it will be a 35% against a 25%. That’s not nearly the ease of victory that you forsee. Victory will happen as someone somewhere will get ahold of the military’s heavy weapons and light nukes and at that time, the 25% will be in trouble, but it will take time.

The over 65 crowd are the ones who started the Revolution in the first place. The over 65 crowd took on the best army in the world and at Concord and Lexington kicked a bunch of British ass.

Chris – like many others I really take exception to your age bias. I’m 65, probably in better shape than most who are half my age. My wife and I are both excellent marksman. We are well armed, very self-sufficient, and something that nobody else has pointed out – we have less to lose than someone younger. Your comment about people over 65 being on Social Security and not wanting to give that up is BS. Over the course of my lifetime the government has taken hundreds of thousands of dollars away from me supposedly for my retirement. Now you think the scraps they are willing to give us back are sufficient to keep us from fighting. You couldn’t be more off base. When you look at how much money most of us have paid into the system and how little we are getting back then perhaps you’ll understand why the older people are more than just a little angry. You think a measly SS check will calm us down. They can take those checks and shove them you know where. And like I said, us older folks have a lot less to lose.
One other thing, in all firing squads they have people with a blank and a the remainder with bullets. When we line up the traitors like Wright, I call dibbs on a real bullet…

I can’t help but think that a) you seem to subtly favour this revolution and many of the described events therein, and b) that many of these descriptions are squarely in violation of the constitution that you so vehemently support. For instance, you’re probably familiar with the sixth amendment right to a fair and speedy trial. Would you consider all of this “summary execution”, including that of inner-city youth, to imply a fair trial? You seem to promote the large-scale execution of prison populations. Would you consider it fair for them to receive a spontaneous death sentence when, in the regular courts with some semblance of a fair trial, the great majority of inmates have been given a far lesser sentence?

No, I do not subtly or otherwise favor a revolution or any form of bloodshed. I’ve seen the results of civil war and they are not pretty. As for “violating” the constitution, the hypothetical “spark” that ignites my scenario is the proverbial “straw that broke the camel’s back” in a long list of unconstitutional behaviors currently employed by the administration in Washington.
As for the “fair trial” you reference, I am quite aware of the constitutional provisions. However, as noted in the article, there will most likely be changes made during the time of unrest. That said, many things occur on the battlefield that do not occur in a land of peace. Expediences will most likely result in less than the current due process. Will they be deemed “unconstitutional” ex post facto? I’m sure much would be written, but the fact remains, to the victor goes the spoils. In this case, the hypothetical scenario gives the victory to the revolutionaries. And, therefore, I think it would be a stretch to expect them to prosecute themselves for constitutional violations in a combat zone.
If you re-read the article, I did not advocate large-scale executions of prisoners. What I said was IF the administration armed prisoners to defend against the revolutionaries, then they would be killed. Thus, they have moved from “prisoner” status to “enemy combatant.” And considering the current anger toward the federal government, the prisoners who took-up arms against the revolutionaries (or anyone who opposed the revolutionaries for that matter), could reasonably expect “no quarter.”

I think you undervalue the utility of decapitation to shorten the timeline. If you take out the head schnitzels up front, resistance will crumble sooner. That’s a lesson we learned in Iraq: we should have taken out some more of the senior bad guys sooner, before they bled us slowly. Even if it doesn’t shorten the overall timeline, a bit more sharp action early reduces the body count over the long haul. A number of studies point to that.
Give the opposition a grace period to turn themselves in, but be firm about enforcing the deadline (no pun intended).
It is difficult to see that you didn’t advocate large-scale prisoner execution given your choice of language, that America would ‘rid itself’ of these people and that it would be an ‘upside’.
Greg, America’s “Institutions of Urban Higher Learning” (prisons) are exactly where Obama’s “czar” Van Jones admits he became a radicalized Communist. The farcical nature of the body politic, when assigning “racism” to the reason many of those incarcerated within our penal institutions are there, fails to assess that those sentenced to prison committed their offensives against mostly poor Americans. Throw in the modus operandi of “plea bargaining,” and many offenders are not serving the sentences they deserve. If those individuals choose to support an immoral, unethical, and unconstitutional “regime,” then their demise and discontinued drain on resources is an upside. On the other hand, the tears need to be shed for those innocents who would surely die in the hypothetical scenario posited.
Considering your last comment, if the motive behind all of this violence is governmental unconstitutionality, all I can say for these hypothetical revolutionaries is that they would be commiting the most egregious of hypocrisies in subjecting millions of people to the most acute of constitutional violations – the deprivation of life. The results would be truly tragic, and for the sake of all Americans I hope that no one considers this as a serious and morally justifiable course. To view the constitution as an almost holy document and then, in its supposed defense, tread all over it with the bloodied boots of war is the most foolish and unthinkable sort of absurdity.
Greg, since America is “no longer a Christian nation” (President Obama), then I hesitate to refer you to Lex Rex and other documents our first revolutionaries used in their exhaustive examination of “revolution” before going to war against King George. A war King George referred to as the “Presbyterian Pastor’s Rebellion.” The Bible’s Romans Chapter XIII was another difficult area for those who chose to take-up arms against the crown. However, the case was made before the war began and, to this country’s and the world’s benefit, the revolutionaries made the right decision. On the other hand, the Constitution is not a “holy document,” it is a man-made document that has suffered the most hideous mutations since President Lincoln. Why? Simply stated, because America has rejected the moral boundaries established by the Founding Fathers. Boundaries they had every reason to expect would be maintained and that are found articulated in the Bible. However, President Lyndon Baines Johnson, while running as a congressman in the 1950’s, ensured that no American pastor would ever again speak of politics from the pulpit again. It seems a pastor in his district was speaking out against Johnson, who then introduced a bill in congress to muzzle pastors. This is the nature of the beast. Do away with the very background of the document and make it say what thou wilt. Come to think of it, Blackmon’s “penumbra and emanations” in his Roe v. Wade opinion comes to mind.
A few possible issues:
I do not agree with Greg in total on his objections to hypocrisy. The Aggressor sets the Rules, and if the Stalinists trigger rebellion by their destruction of the Bill of Rights, why should we feel compelled to treat them with kid gloves?
I see some of the points Greg is making. But the bottom line as I see it, to his objections, is that we cannot justifiably use force in defense of our constitution under any circumstances, against a domestic enemy. I just don’t buy that.
Nevertheless, Greg’s points may embed themselves in the form of reluctance to carry out certain “missions”. I will be perfectly honest: I would refuse to perform or participate in any summary executions, unless I could be quite certain that the accused was guilty of his charges, and the charges were either treason, rape, or murder.
Treason would have to be severe enough to have put lives at risk, and deliberate.
A few things:
Might not the overall progression of the rebellion be hampered by hesitation and uncertainty. I can see circumstances under which I would be very reluctant to kill, for example. How can you gauge the intent of military or militia units? What if you were to come upon bands of theives and rapists? What if your allies turned out to be those types?
Many minor issues that could hold up progress.
Second: The police could be much more of a problem than you state. Many of them might side stubbornly with a corrupt Federal government. I hope that 40% of USmil is accurate. If not, that could be a major problem.
Third: We are in hawk to some dangerous people. If, in the middle of this rebellion, with the country in extremis, the Chicoms see their chance, might they not lob some nukes over and stage landings?

We all need to clear our minds of hate and watch for the hateful, particularly if ‘the fertilizer hits the fan’. We need all the good people we save to re-establish the shining city on a hill as quickly as possible for our childrens’ and theirs’ sake.
Regarding rewriting the Constitution – It was written with the assumption the people (citizens) were good (or Godly). The progressives/left/communists/marxists/socialists have gone far turning us away from being a good people (“the end justifies the means”, “Sure, winning isn’t every thing, It’s the only thing”, “looking out for number one” all demonstrate the selfishness that now pervades our ‘culture’.) My prayer is that we could return to that wonderful world that is probably the closest to heaven we will ever see, but I have grave doubts it can be accomplished before the end that God has for us. I believe, however, that any attempt to ‘fix’ the Constitution without very slow and deliberate consideration would doom us to more of what we’ve seen since the end of the 19th century.
I’ve long thought that while many things might trigger a violent reaction to the government overstepping of its bounds, it will be abortion that enlists and magnifies the numbers who revolt when it finally starts. Nothing else is as clearly evil and demented as the enforcement of abortion on demand when the majority of the people are against. Large numbers of those opposed to abortion would grudgingly agree to first trimester abortions in some cases, or perhaps some other compromise. Yet the elites insist that abortion is their acid of privacy rights and rights to their own bodies rather than bow to the will of the majority even a little.
We are now clearly on the verge of something very different, and we can thank both the democrat drumbeat against Bush that so many who should have been supporting Bush picked up and magnified, and the absolute ideal elitist democrat president, Hussein Obama. No other combination of events I can think of would combine to make conservatives and independents feel like they were not only being made fools of by the incumbent, but that they had also made fools of themselves for agreeing with the elites in order to make the current situation possible. As is often the case, two wrongs don’t make a right, but two big enough wrongs trigger a reaction that makes things right.
Armed revolution may not be in the works, stranger things have happened than a democrat society walking right up to the edge of the abyss and stopping before they fall in, but I doubt Americans will react that way. If it comes, the main concern I have is which caliber will be appropriate, 7.62 or 5.56. I’d hate to be carrying my rechambered Garand to an AR15 party; you know how embarrassing it would be to wear the wrong bandolier for a revolution.
I’ll just have to take my chances with the fashion issue, though, as it’s long past time we face the fact that there will never be a working two party system in this country as long as the democrat party continues to exist. Secession, Civil War, creation of the KKK after the Civil War, Eugenics laws, FDR and the ignoring of the Constitution, LBJ and the Great Society while grinding middle Americas young men into hamburger, Jimmy Carter and abandonment of the Shah along with the empowerment of the so-called Palestinians, Baakeee Fwank and Chris Dodd ignoring the president calling for more strict regulation of Fannie and Freddie while they both know that it would cause bankruptcy, and now our dear Muslim Obama. You do indeed make a bold assumption in thinking that I support democracy. Just as our nation’s Fathers found democracy distasteful, so do I. We do not live in a Democracy. The United States of America is a Constitutional Republic in which governance is by the people, for the people, and of the people. The Founding Fathers were wise enough to know that democracies are whimsical and can lead to mass persecution of 49% of its citizens. The problem today is that the “people’s” representatives have forgotten their place. Instead of being elected servants of “the people,” they have become rulers, which is why Americans are upset.
As for your query concerning AlGore’s decimating the population versus killing prisoners who take-up arms against a legitimate revolt, you do not pose a logically constructed question. You cannot compare wanting people dead to save inanimate objects with killing enemy combatants. The tangential benefit of killing this particular group of enemy combatants is the reduced drain on resources, but it is NOT the reason for killing them. In the hypothesis, the government armed the inmates to shoot citizens overthrowing a despotic and tyrannical government. Please don’t assign “motive” to a tangential benefit of killing a tyrant’s lackeys. The reason for killing the armed prisoners was simply a matter of dealing with an unlawful government’s armed thugs.

- Massive crime rates – people will become cautious and distrustful. The unwary will be robbed, raped, or killed. Theft will be rampant. People coming to houses uninvited will be met with hostility and possibly the barrel of a firearm for fear of them being criminals posing as repair/service men – see Argintina.
- Large breeds of dogs will become popular, bars will appear on windows, and most people who can get their hands on guns will do so for protection.
- Bushes will disappear around houses as people will want a clear line of vision before leaving their homes.
- Mechanics, electricians, and anyone else able to repair broken object and infrastructure will become respected and valued parts of communities. Again, look to Argentina – things that we throw away are repaired – even some of the solid-state electronics that we consider “unfixable” – they have hedge-mechanics there that can fix almost anything.
- Law Enforcement must be paid-off to protect, and bribed to stay out of your life if you cross them. They won’t go away, they will simply be forced to make a nitch for themselves. Look not only at the police in the southern hemisphere, but also the way the “law” behaved in the 1800’s for examples. The Erp brothers, Henry Plumber, Wild Bill, and others.
- Politicians will make themselves a kind of royalty, and bribes will be required to get any sort of permits or permission to do anything. They ballots will be stuffed, the children of politicians will be tapped as their replacements, it will be a classic Banana republic.
- Consumer goods and electronics from other nations will not “vanish,” but shall become very expensive and difficult to get – it will require bribes in the right places to get a hold of, saving up for the black market, or you stealing them.
- Black markets will spring up, selling guns, ammo, consumer goods, pirated movies, games, and knock-offs of nearly anything you could want, as the normal means of moving products will have broken down completely. Again, this is exactly what happened in Argentina/the Balkans – even after a fall, people will still pay dearly for luxury items like lipstick, pantyhose, and even Playstations.
- Guns outlawed yet at the same time… EVERYWHERE – due to a breakdown in traditional government authority beyond the coastal cities – people will be their own defense and law. Law enforcement will look the other way unless they need money that day – then expect to pay a bribe or “tax” to avoid jail.”
- Gangs will be commonplace, and will be paid off by locals, and as long as they stay out of the Law’s way, will be left mostly alone, unless they start causing so much chaos that the law has a hard time collecting bribes – they then can expect to get shot to pieces by the locals, freshly deputized. Local business men will begin hiring these gangs for “protection.” Some parents will encourage their children to join said gangs as a way of protecting their families from them.
- Money will still be issued, but outside the coastal cities will be near worthless. Money will be a “status” symbol of the rich. The serfs will trade goods, gold, silver, old jewelry, leftover consumer items from before the “fall.” Banks will exist on the coast, but in the inner country they would be pointless.
- Agriculture will be back in a big way. Raising animals, crops, trapping, snaring, hunting for skins. Craftsmen will become valuable again.
- The stupidity of the environmentalist, animal rights, and anti-gun movements will have vanished along with the social structure that allowed these wrong-headed elements to rise to prominence. The reality of clothing one’s self, eating, and surviving without the protection of a functioning government will trump any ideals quickly.
- Big box stores, outlets, chains, and most businesses will collapse once you get beyond the coasts. Looting, stealing, the inability to stock shelves, worthless dollars will force them to vanish. They will relocate to countries that work. Again, see Argentina and the Balkans for examples of the consumer infrastructure relocating to safe soil.
- Power an water will be “present” but unreliable. Most Local municipalities will probably be able to maintain some form of electricity, but brown and blackouts will be common and long in duration, the water will be questionable at best, and things like smallbeer and other water alternatives will come back into common use.
- Radio will probably still be running, with no real regulation, and no large transmitters – so it will be local people and maybe some government propaganda channels – same with T.V. Anything larger than your local pirated frequency will be propaganda sent out from the costs where the old vestiges of government still maintain some power.
- The military will be a disaster. During “the war” you’d see large scale desertion, betrayals, and in the end, the remains would be so rag-tag that their power would extend only a few miles inwards. With the infrastructure that supports our military industrial complex collapsed, it will be impossible to maintain the same level of combat effectiveness, and outside a few very elite units, the sorts of capabilities our entire armed forces now enjoy will be a faded dream of better times.
- The navy would be unsustainable as well. Much of the fleet would very rapidly become inoperable without a constant stream of supply flowing into it for upgrades/repairs – supply that can onyl be generated by our full functioning economy – not the crippled corpse that will stagger along after the war.
- The air force would be equally crippled. All of these wondrous toys require huge sums of money to operate. Look at what 911 did to our Economy… imagine a Civil War. Let’s just say “Dow 900″ over and over and over again.
- Hospitals and clinics beyond the coast are pretty much reduced to field medicine. Doctors will still ply their trade only for barter, although we will probably see international agencies set up field hospitals – thing red cross, and other aid-agencies. Quality medical treatments, like we enjoy now, MRI’s, Chemo, ect, will be reserved for the rich and politicians on the coasts. Midwives will become a common profession once again.
- Dentists will vanish. you will only find them on the coasts servicing the rich and politicians.
- Drugs and medications will be difficult to get – mostly on the black market at high prices. Conditions easily treatable now will be a death sentence. Diabetes, Heart problems, syphilis, chlamydia, dysentery, and other diseases we easily control now will become killers. Expect bugs thought stomped out to return and kill many. Infant mortality will skyrocket.
- Internet – boom, gone in the interior. the very wealthy and political class will have it on the coastal regions – the infrastructure will not support it beyond the coasts, as simply keeping power and water running will be a daunting enough task. That and most of the in ground fiber will have been destroyed during the revolution, by the insurgents stopping government communication, and the government stopping insurgent pirate networks.
- You will see large families come back into vogue, as a large family is better for working the farm, raising animals, and due to birth control becoming difficult to acquire – along with most other consumer goods – you’ll just end up with more kids when you boink the Mrs. Also, due to high death rates of children, you will need to have more in order to get a few to adulthood.
So there you have what I think we’d be facing – a pretty distopyian picture to be sure. The nation would be a giant mess forever in my opinion. It would not heal, it would remain a patchwork of city-states in the interior, with the vestiges of the “old government” holding into the coasts – all parties squabbling with and killing one another in small skirmishes, while we the people live like South Americans, just trying to scrape by with our daily lives, and working much much much harder for the little luxuries we enjoy now.
Not quite “roving gangs wearing football pads with chains and spikes dangling off them” but certainly not a pretty utopia that’s being painted by the man in that article.

I am not making a case for or against. Just sharing based on research and conclusions I have conducted/made with regards to this topic.
I am not espousing a roll over and die mentality, but I do believe that before a shot is fired people should be aware of what the outcome will likely be – based on research I have done on the Balkans, Zimbabwe, and Argentina.
The costs should be examined up front, before people decide to pursue the rout of armed insurrection. it is not something to be taken lightly, and people must ask themselves – they much soul search, and examine the costs.

As to guard dogs being disposed of, you are correct – they are often poisoned and killed with muffled .22’s – but they are still fairly effective, and quite popular in other countries/nations that have collapsed. They will bark and raise all manner of hell long before you will hear someone creeping up. They are certainly not full proof – but nothing is to a truly determined assailant. After a collapse, few can afford alarms, and the power is irregular enough that it would not be reliable anyways.

These were truly America’s BEST, and they were men that one could count on to perform their duties with snap, precision, and unyielding courage in the face of the enemy.

I can see thousands of “legally” armed citizens descending on congress forcing them OUT! Especially, if the 2010 election is suspected of being rigged by liberal groups like acorn and other liberal power groups.
The Washington PD; FBI and possible military troops would basically be force to give up without much resistence. (Much like the PD did in New Orleans) These people have families to care for!
I “definitely” do NOT see the mass murder and executions you described. I can see people being put on trial and imprisioned for treason; however.
As for UN troops, they most likely would be FORCED to sit out; because the UN would be shut down in American by the revolutionaries. (IMO; the UN is made up of a bunch of cowards anyway.) They may be “somewhat” effective a policing “oppressed” third world countries; BUT!! This is the UNITED STATES of AMERICA! The people in “this” country “know” FREEDOM!

I have wondered where discussion was concerning the bearing of arms, and just found this today.
You have described a domestic scenario exactly as I have imagined, and on a very similar timetable. I also see some re-alignment of both our northern and southern borders (expansion, rather than contraction), as people with vision in both Canada and Mexico desire to be a part of the new, emerging nation.
That geographic area known as “The South” may again emerge as it’s own nation. This part of the country is still most similar in language, customs, history, etc. They understand the difference between secession and civil war, and will have the best chance of success. There have been sound organizations advocating Southern Nationalism for some time If so, there are many who would want to be a part of it.
I’m 66, but have a new AR-15 and several new 9mm firearms, and am definitely ready to use them if need be, to establish a new Constitution without the choking constraint of massive debt to the Federal Reserve. There are many in my age group who have enjoyed peaceful freedom without globalism and Empire-maintenance, and look forward to it’s return.
There will probably be some opportunistic nation, or nations (probably Communist or Socialist) who will see this time of revolution as a way to finally subdue North America, and bite off a few chunks for themselves. Those remaining here will need to be prepared to defend anew against these aggressors.
A charismatic leader (like the Governor of Texas) could be the spark to ignite this fuse! This is all that many need to arise.

So who is gonna play and why? While a great many true Americans of all colors will take up arms for liberty I would guess that an easy 1/4 to 1/3 of the people who will be involved in the early instigation and hostilities as “patriots” are no more than racists eager for a chance to kill those different than themselves, so This will of course cause a massive wave of retaliatory killing urged on no doubt by Rev. J. Jackson and the like.
This will likely go back and forth for a bit, and I agree that once people see it can be done lots of Americans are going to take their neighborhoods back from scum; and I sure don’t think there will be anyone looking for a judge or jury.. just targets. I think it will be very brutal at the local level.
Ronin has some good points, the cost will be extreme both in damage and in lives.. but what about the costs of doing nothing? While I do not advocate armed insurrection at this time; I believe it is our duty as Americans to think long and hard about it. The second amendment was put in place to ensure that when all else fails.. when the government ceases to respond to the will of the people we have the ability to enact change by force of arms should we have the moral courage to do so. But a word of caution to the hot heads and fire brands.. Just because you have the right to do a thing does not make it the RIGHT thing to do.
This is not a course of action to take lightly or joke about. The number of people not only talking about it but actively preparing for it are truly frightening. I would go so far as to suggest that there are probably more people right this second ready to fight and actively waiting for a spark to cause the others to get off the bench than were involved in the first American Revolution…on both sides.
As for the predictions about the military: IMHO a large majority (of us) will stay in uniform simply to protect our borders; we swore an oath and while many mutter “and domestic” under our breath a lot we realize that keeping the nation as a whole secure from foreign powers must take precedence. Ahhem.. we also know that the infamous “they” are well aware of exactly how we feel.. the suggestion has been made that there is a reason “they” have not followed through on campaign promises to bring us back stateside. Those most likely to take part in the predicted mass desertion are exactly the ones that the powers that be are counting on to blindly follow orders. Don’t worry, we got the door (now clean up the freaking house).
Prediction: When the administration realizes that the military and most local law enforcement is not going to play ball they will bring in many of their supporters from organized labor and groups such as ACORN and slap them into the ranks of the FBI, Federal Marshals and other agencies to give the appearance of legitimacy. Those will be the primary armed opposition (terror troops) of the government. Most federal agencies will be hard pressed providing protection for federal assets and personnel.
Think about what most Americans don’tknow about lincoln and our own not-so-civil war–gubmint today far exceeds gubmint in lincoln’s time, and look what he was able to do.

Where is the money flow?
A couple of your assumptions about how early reactions might transpire seem to overlook – wars are always fought for money. Certainly unions, probably organized crime and foreign and drug interests are reasonably happy with Obama. I am not convinced all the early successes will all go against Obama, Read, Pelosi and their crew of assorted pirates.
I also think that imputing discipline to the nation’s gun owners as a whole, is optimistic. I question how long it will take for a significant number to find the will to take up arms in earnest.
Just as no battle plan survives contact with the enemy, your suggested scenario seems too rosy with too little provision for setbacks and lost battles.

The people are getting more and more tired of the government. A man starts a dairy business in say, Florida. He is aware that pasteurized milk is bad, so he sells some of it raw, not putting the “for pet consumption only” label on each bottle. He refuses to comply so eventually the swat team pulls up to his driveway. He violently defends himself, AND HIS NEIGHBORS HELP. The swat team is cut to pieces, there are no survivors. There is never any prosecution, and Florida law is changed to allow its citizens to take their milk however they please, provided it is labeled properly in stores, that is, the consumer isn’t being lied to. A couple thousand examples of this and WE’VE WON. No 70 million killed. Just a bunch of mongoloid thugs in black uniforms.

Love the milk example. As one of only five states that allows raw milk sales, Texas is a great place to live.
The Texas Agriculture department monitors the bacteria levels in cow milk on a regular basis and in the years we’ve been drinking raw milk, we’ve only had one two-week period when it was unavailable (shortly after a period of prolonged rain).
As for the “ease” of your “mission accomplished,” don’t be surprised if other comments take issue with yours. I’ve been told repeatedly my hypothetical scenario is far too rosy.

Ergo, the current crop of milquetoast ‘preachers’ (so called) are simply too cowardly and too spiritually lazy to suddenly find the John the Baptist in them simply by a removal of ‘501(c)3 regulations’ – which legally do not even apply to churches anyway. They VOLUNTARILY choose to muzzle themselves. Churches are not currently prohibited by law from preaching on current events, or even naming names if they feel so inclined. Rather, by accepting 501(c)3 status benefits (which are marginal to begin with) they CHOOSE to muzzle themselves. Why? Because they don’t have the heart for getting their pulpits dirty. And suddenly declaring churches INELGIBLE for 501(c)3 status will hardly ‘free the preachers’. The ones who would dare to speak truth to power in the ‘new era’ are already doing that now, damn the consequences.

REGARDLESS of what a person’s beliefs are, the idea of closing down churches and seizing their assets for some communist/socialist ‘redistribution’ scheme on the mere basis of religious belief which does not involve such sordid evils as child abuse or animal sacrifice would never be acceptable to ANY real patriot, period.
The idea that the State needs to interfere and ’settle’ theological issues is something that the Founding Fathers vehemently rejected, and something that MOST EVERYONE in America rejects, as well.
Besides those two points, the majority of the scenario presented is rather fanciful, but unrealistic, in my opinion.
The most likely scenario is the nation devolves into that type of society which was portrayed in the movie ‘The Children of Men’ (minus the child-bearing plot line).
In other words, we get more government socialism, some folks ‘react’ and ‘revolt’, more crackdowns, more tyranny, more revolts, numerous false-flag bombings and terrorist attacks sponsored by a wide range of varied and different parties (both foreign and domestic) each pursuing their own agenda, etc etc. Sporadic and unorganized resistance, several assassinations of various people believed to be on the ‘other’ side, various infighting among antigovernment insurgent groups, lots of infiltration and back stabbing and double dealing and even triple-crossing, etc.
The American Revolutionary War succeeded as well as it did because of the real Revolution – a Revolution not of swords and muskets, but of ideas and values.
Those ideas and values are not widespread throughout the nation today as they once were, and thus it would take several generations (as well as a reversal of the negative birth rate trend) to restore Liberty in this country.
Either that, or as America descends into chaos foreign interests simply drop some nukes and invade, which will immediately end the ‘revolution’ as the nation ‘unites’ to defend against the ‘common foe’. Nothing like a threatening foreign enemy to make the sheeple forget all about the domestic enemies…

The government has armed itself to the teeth. Cops tazer people for sleeping on park benches. The military has plans to invade the streets of the US. The government is just waiting for one person to use violence to justify martial law.
Violence is inevitable. Peaceful revolution has been attempted and it hasn’t worked. No amount of unbroadcasted rallies and unpublished letters to the newspaper have managed to change a damned thing. Nothing is better. There have been no positive changes, only a worsening situation. The government wants violence. It cannot continue exist without violence against the population. Whether it’s killing people through false flag attacks, poisoning them with vaccinations, or killing them slowly by denying people the right to grow their own food or access water, the government has plans to kill people.
Taking up arms against tyranny is not an act of violence – it is an act of defense, You have every right as a human being to protect yourself from someone trying to kill or harm you. You do not need the government’s permission to defend yourself – and the government will never grant it anyhow.
I fear the government. I fear some of the people who will revolt will become just as tyrannical as the people they tried to overthrow. I don’t trust anyone who wants power over me. I don’t trust anyone who says they know what’s best for me. I don’t trust anyone that I would appoint/elect to stay true to their principles. Sure, it might happen, but history shows otherwise. Only the threat of retaliation and a history of defending oneself will limit tyranny.
I accept that violence is inevitable. I am not promoting it, but I cannot deny its reality. People need to be prepared. They need to be aware.
I know many well-armed pacifists. I know many yogis who wouldn’t think twice about defending themselves should the government try to force a vaccination or military law. The government and the powers that be (or as someone at RMN says, the Powers That Were) are clueless. If they had a clue, they wouldn’t be running for office, they wouldn’t be bailing out banks, they wouldn’t be sending more troops to Iraq and Afghanistan, they wouldn’t be defending the imperialist status quo. If they aren’t speaking out and trying to force changes (Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich, Alan Grayson), then they are targets for Americans rage, pure and simple.
I think the most deaths will occur with an inter-war between the US military. We are about to see fragging taken to a new level. While many in the military would never shoot an American to defend the government, just as many will.
And people should be worried. When TSHTF, the defenders of government will do their best to replicate their actions in Iraq – the systemic assassinations of intellectuals, scientists, revolutionaries. Those watch lists have a lot of names. The government will target the activists, the outspoken ones who know the real history and the ones who will be able to lead the population back to the Constitution. The government will do its best to keep the population without an army of knights in white shining armor. Beware.
Well, not a bad story, however, there are way too many possibilities for how it would, could, or should go. I read a book, “Surviving the Coming Collapse” by James Wesley Rawles. It was a good read and informative.
I do not subscribe to the left/right red/blue/ repub/dem excrement, this was a system devised for divide and conquer for the weak minded. Both parties serve the same masters, this is well known and documented. The agenda is long and has many “plots” within it. Each side (red/blue)(those pulling the strings) has a job to do and they pick the plots they will take care of, whether it is left leaning or right leaning, or whoever is the best salesman for the right audience for the right plot. The other side picks devil’s advocate and feigns opposition, albeit ineffective as long as the people trust the argument makers. One side will take the fall on their “plot” so the true plot will prevail which is supportive of the overall agenda. See how this works?
Notice how the ones who dont “play ball” are blackballed not only by the media who helps “sell” this game to the public, but by the brainwashed masses under the control of the parties. Like Ron Paul is the prime example, they definately did not want him anywhere near the reigns of power to rain on their parade, he is not “in on it” and wont go along with the agenda. Getting past the false left/right game is paramount. Just as a doctor cannot treat a patient if he doesnt know whats wrong with him, you cant fix the system if you dont know whats wrong with it. The problem is both sides of the political spectrum are playing for the same side, and you arent on it. When Americans start thinking together like Americans, it will be us (we the people) against them (the elites and globalists). As long as you keep letting them pit us against eachother, you will never get to them.
As for me, I am leaving my homeland security job to go and homestead with my family, I am well rounded, however, I study military strategy, tactics, operational level doctrines, equipment and many other things including Sun Tzu. I wont go into 9/11, I dont think I have to, however, looking at it in a militaristic and strategic way, you can see much clearer than just going on physical and obvious evidence as to what went down that day.
As for scenarios as described above, my philosophy is to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Something is going to come to a head, and possibly soon. Make good with God, your neighbors and countrymen, no matter what side of the fence they sit, the problem is that most see a fence where there really isnt one.

Certainly a plausible chain of events, but seems a little compressed. Also, the fractures among the revolutionaries would be great, indeed. Loss of convenient, global communications early in a revolution would foster opportunities for organized deception, straw men, and ultimately, intense distrust.
So, while the strong heart of the American people and their latent tenacity is to be expected, and even counted on, the more important single factor will be local sustainability (and not in the cheeseball green movement meaning of the word sustainable) AND a comprehension of local geography. That goes to short and medium term resource availability and a tactical advantage. While states are plausible size units, state borders will be meaningless except where established on defensible topographic features or rivers. The faction unit of measure would be a breadth-of-command limit that would organically shift as power struggles and played out within groups. That would consume a lot of time and resources. Not enough to limit the ability to repel boarders, but enough to provide the rest of the world a context for dealing with and/or ‘colonizing’ parts of this new 5th world wilderness.
Thus, the revolution would, without some miracle, likely turn on itself from its own outer corners for a time. A populace brought to its own gritty front lines of survival would not be an easy thing to slow down, but would be fairly easy to manipulate from an outside position of long-contemplated stability and resource-rich power.
But even that would not stand. There is no permanence, only change. Hence the adventure.

Understood about the Bible, and no, I would not want a sectarian state, the possibility of encompassing everyones interpretation of the Bible is too difficult a task, however, the “principals” are there. Being good to others, respecting their rights to be free and practice what they believe. I do not submit to any kind of organized religeon, however, I have my own thoughts about what the Bible says. I do not need religeon to tell me how to act towards others or how to conduct business and family matters. But, the truth is, there IS a creator, the evidence is overwhelming and the Bible is one of the only sources as to who He is. And knowing what He wants of us is a common denomination of christian beliefs even though it varies according to different “sects”. So, a generalisation on the part of the founders was in order to make it possible for freedom. But the price of freedom for yourself includes making sure others have that same freedom as long as no one else treads on yours.

Nice piece, Epstein. Gutsy. But, of course, you’re dreaming. You conveniently ignore the fact that Obama will have a good suppression strategy in place before he declares martial law. The plan won’t arise from the police state as such, at least not outwardly. But it will tend to panic and otherwise immobilize the American populace. A huge false-flag terror attack can do that, but must still rely on fear to ensure total submission to state authority. Under these circumstances compliance is still voluntary, since fear can be overcome and few are directly threatened. But the ubiquitous and palpable fear engendered by a deadly pandemic will quickly be followed by a general demand for state action to alleviate the crisis. Everyone agrees at this point on the need for immediate state intervention, necessitating a declaration of martial law. By the time things settle down and public analysis of the true facts of the crisis becomes possible, Obamanazis will have already altered fundamental concepts of constitutional law and its institutional architecture, while cleverly deploying their forces to crush all emergent signs of resistance. As a result of these developemnts, counterrevolutionary action will be all but impossible.
While I’m not completely certain about what follows, you should be aware that the antigen for the European swine flu vaccine may very well be a particularly virulent form of Vietnamese bird flu(H5N1, not H1N1). What this seems to indicate is that European health authorities are really expecting a bird flu pandemic, not a swine flu one. Meanwhile, the FDA and CDC won’t reveal what the American antigen is in the swine flu vaccines set for distribution at the end of this month. Are the vaccination toadies to be unwittingly prepped for a bird flu pandemic? Who knows?
Finally, remember the puts (short sales) placed on key airline stocks before 9-11? Well, Wall Street maybe at it again. Apparently, the big banks are buying life insurance polices and securitizing them as bonds to be sold to interested investors like hedge funds. But in order, for them to make money–really big money–the policy holders have to die fairly soon. My question is, what does Wall Street know about the possibly shortened life expectancies of millions of baby boomers and older seniors that guarantees them a hefty return on their investments? Care to take a guess? Whatever it is it will try men’s souls while compromising the desperate fight for liberty that will ensue.
I know why the leftist think that conservatives are Fascist. This little story ended with an authoritarian dictatorial regime — One designed to control the populace and their speech and actions. What happened to “Restore the Constitution”? Killing the commies in war is one thing, but having speech police is another. I think you should rethink your definition of freedom.

I completely agree that armed revolution is near at hand. I wonder though if it’s not a contrived deal rather than an unexpected consequence of a continuing circus of well meaning players who are simply guilty of egregious errors. I suggest that these event are being played out in our sight, well scripted, calculated for their effect, which is to set the nation ablaze and open the door for a *peace plan* with a distinctly one world flavor. As to the person who suggested that people over 55 are useless; Sir, these are your General Officers, show due respect. If you begin at the bottom of the comments section and read up, you will find the first readers of this old post were centrists and those center-right. Many, many of the comments found flaws with my time line, as well as the hypothetical story itself. Many also found just as much distaste for the idea of armed revolution as those left of center do. This is good. I’m not advocating violence or armed revolution. Frankly, I thought most people would understand from the gravity of the hypothesis and insanity of killing that this was a path we could NOT go down. He is also asking a serious question: At what point does a person have the right to use deadly force against his own government? We can see from history when it was appropriate; it is harder to see in our own country, we are blinded and distracted by many things that obscure our vision.

However, if those who have done serious damage to the Constitution will be placed on trial, then former President George W. Bush and former Vice President Richard Cheney just might finally face justice. President Obama has aided and abetted their crimes by effectively protecting them from the consequences of having committed them.
That would probably the only bit of good to survive such a revolution, which has a high probability of turning on itself as the French Revolution did. Once our revolutionaries finish killing off the old government, they will likely then turn on anyone who disagrees with them, and then, like the French Revolution, turn on each other.
Nations hostile to us would also be quick to take advantage of this internal turmoil, as the country would be utterly incapable of defending itself as it tore itself apart.
Fortunately, this revolution is as likely to happen as Rush Limbaugh praising someone for their liberal policies. And equally fortunately, as a legally armed citizen, I can help protect my nation from those who would destroy it.

I’m in, but I won’t be the first to squeeze the trigger or set off an IED. Unfortunately I see the real possibility that there would only be sporadic “brush fires” set off by ill trained and uncoordinated groups that could easily be put down just like in Waco. There would have to be a -long- period of bombings and assassinations to start making people think that revolt is a viable solution. Coordination will be the major problem for a national revolution to work. A revolution might work with the right network of leaders, but a protracted civil war could be a disaster.
This revolution will only work with great leaders and men of steely nerve. I’m in but I won’t fire the first shot heard ’round the world. Would you? Of course not. Not even the first hundred shots. There will have to be some period of “softening up” and purges of the mud races before we can take our country back. Then there will have to be a few nights of the long knives where we remove the sympathizers of the status quo and any of our own who don’t have the courage to take this revolution to its final conclusions. Once we have our country back, then we can boot the money changers out of our temple of the USA and go after the shadow leaders in other countries that will try to regain power in the USA.
I’m with you, but there will have to be a lot of killing done to clean this all up and make sure no counter revolts can take place. Do you have the stomach for that? I’m ready, but I’m not going to go down the street shooting illegals, there will have to be coordinated programs for that.

The number of people actually crazy enough to be willing to take part in it would be so small, I doubt it would even require help from the military to put it down. Local police forces have more than enough firepower and resources to stop you. Factor in the 98% (and that’s a low estimate) of citizens -not- willing to put their lives on the line to fight some ridiculous perceived wrong brought about by watching too much Faux News, and you have yourself a timeline that looks much more like
1) Start pitiful revolution.
2) Fail horribly.

The reality of the situation is that fewer than one in a hundred of those claiming anger at the government would be willing to commit the kind of treason you suggest, and if they did, they would swiftly find that not everyone is quite as angry as they say they are, and they would be swiftly and easily defeated.

I don’t want to get into a discussion about whose politics are correct or what should be done about the Obama administration. Let’s just discuss demographics for a moment.
First off, how many fighters would such a revolution get? Let’s say that everyone who showed up to Glenn Beck’s 9/12 rally decided to pick up a gun. There was a very well written, thought out estimate of the number of participants: 110,000. Okay, that’s not a whole lot. How many more than that will be willing to fight against their own countrymen, in the most wild semi-realistic scenario we can possibly concoct? Ten times that?
One million can’t enforce their ideals on 300 million, particularly if they learn that this is a real revolution and they want to take over the country. Once the first shots are fired, the backlash will be severe. The moment Americans start losing their lives from revolutionary bullets, the military will be hearing “These nutcases have killed innocent American citizens, put them away.” And it will work. How many active military do you expect will join this, seriously? Once they know that American civilians are getting hurt?
Let’s take a look at the politics of people of military age: The 18-29s voted for Obama nearly 2 to 1 (34 percentage point difference). Sorry to burst anyone’s bubble. They may have been less than pleased with their decision, but their politics are still liberal, or at least not conservative enough to want to fight against the current government, and it’s a huge stretch to say that they will actually risk their lives fighting against the guy they voted for. It is probably safe to say that a majority of them would risk their lives *for* him.
The number of Republicans and conservative independents in this country is a *minority*. The number of people who will engage in armed revolt is a considerably smaller minority than that. It will have *everybody else in this country* fighting against it, of necessity. An armed insurrection against the vast majority of the military AND a majority of military-age men (who, in this all-out-war scenario, will sign up to fight against the revolution) AND whatever foreign help Barack asks for (and he’d get it, instantly)? No way. Just no way.
Whence does this “majority of Americans” come?

Interesting article. The anger level has definitely risen in the past 8 years. We’re now at $12,000,000,000,000 in debt, and Obama/Pelosi/Reid want to buy solid gold jet skis (health care). The problem with any such scenario as I see it, beyond what triggers the first hostilities, is organization, implementation and supplies. I also don’t think that the PD would necessarily remain on the sidelines as you envision, at least not California law enforcement, since many are anti-second amendment and don’t like civilians being armed period. I think some here would use it as an excuse to seize personal firearms. For example when the hostilities commence elsewhere they would act quickly here to quell the effort before it got started. At least they would try. If it comes to that… well no one ever said that remaining free would be easy or without risk.
