Cold Steel and Hot Lead: Are these the only “viable” solutions to Obama’s tyranny?
The Spirit of the Bayonet — To Kill! US Army Poster
“If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun. That’s the Chicago way.” Barack Obama
Throughout the health care debate, American has been bombarded with the “47 million uninsured” figure. However, this figure includes at least 12 million illegal Mexican aliens whom, according to the administration, will not receive Obamacare. If the latter is true, why is the 12 million illegal figure still captured in the 47 million? Isn’t the real figure 35 million uninsured? Moreover, aren’t there another 2-3 million illegal aliens from other countries residing within our borders? So is the real figure somewhere between 32 and 33 million or 10% of the country’s population? Has the Obama administration consistently misspoke the actual figure?
Actually, if we just do the math, of course the figure is between 32 and 33 million. As for Team Obama having repeatedly misspoken — not on your life! The words were deliberate and calculated.
And herein lies the problem. Barack Obama, Senator Reid, Speaker Pelosi, and the liberal Democrats in both houses of Congress want taxpaying Americans to fund a government health care program for 10% of Americans that will cost at least $1 trillion in its first ten years, and this amount is a conservative figure. The real costs will be much higher.
This isn’t about compassion, this is about power and control over America and its citizens, which has been the goal of the radical left since it began using the federal courts to achieve what it could not achieve through legislation. In other words, when our Constitutional Republic’s representative process failed the radicals, they sought another avenue to impose their will upon average Americans.
Historically, radical change to a country’s political system resulted from armed conflict. The people rose up and killed their leaders or a new leadership rose up and killed its citizens that opposed the new government. And, depending on which example one uses, some of these revolutions were not pretty.
Over the last couple of centuries, we’ve witnessed a revolution in France that not only killed the leadership, but many innocents in a bloodbath hallmarked by use of the guillotine. In Germany, the Night of the Long Knives consolidated Hitler’s power and set in motion one of the most politically repressive regimes in history. Not only did tens of thousands of ordinary Germans die, thousands of them were sent to “re-education” camps that came to be known as concentration camps (not death camps, which were designed to implement the Final Solution). Additionally, millions in the occupied territories were butchered indiscriminately. In Russia, the royal family was murdered during the revolution. Afterwards, Joseph Stalin murdered his own citizens by the millions — citizens he suspected of not supporting his government — and the bloodbath under this leftist made Hitler’s fascist bloodbath look like a cake walk.
By comparison, the Revolutionary War in our country was not only waged by less than a third of the population, it was a war against tyranny, which was not the basis of the aforementioned revolutions (even though we like to think of the French Revolution as such). Another difference of the American Revolution was its principled leadership and resulting documents that established freedoms unheard of in history. However, our country’s Founding Fathers understood potential problems with their imperfect documents and were such visionairies that they recognized the need for future conflict, if the government did not answer to the people. Thomas Jefferson codified this understanding in his famous “Tree of LIberty” comment that said the nurture of our freedoms may require the blood of tyrants and patriots in the years to come.
To state as “fact” that our government is no longer answering to the people is a gross understatement at this point. Special interests ranging from big oil to banks to welfare pimps influencing and corrupting the mortgage industry to La Raza to radical environmentalists to representatives of illegal aliens to Arab terrorist fronts to those who stand to gain financially from nationalizing health care have hijacked the representative process, and the representatives themselves bow to the special interests that donate the most money to their political campaign coffers. The Founding Fathers never envisionsed these particular set of factors corrupting our system of governance, but they also never envisioned “career” politicians.
Although our governing documents never envisioned today’s “corruptocrats” masquerading as “representatives of the people,” the writers of said documents did provide a solution. And, unfortunately, it appears Americans may have to avail themselves of that solution unless the federal, state, and local governments change their ways. Yes, the corruption is not limited to Washington D.C., but permeates every level of our city, state, and federal governments. Just one example at the local level is the number of tax assessors who’ve increased property values of residential structures in a blatant money grab, even though nearly every city and town has experienced a devaluing of real property. This type of outrageous behavior goes beyond “taxation without representation,” and is more akin to grand theft. In other words, it’s not just Obama, Reid, Pelosi, and the radicals who are way out of line, it’s nearly every political entity on the American landscape that is either raping the taxpayer or imposing their indiviudal wills on the people or a combination of their wills and the special interests the politicians now represent, instead of the people they were elected to represent.
As I noted yesterday, it’s unknown just what the Army’s leadership would do in response to a general rebellion against a political leadership that totally disregards our country’s legal documents, in order to impose the will of special interests on the people. However, regardless of what the generals would ultimately do, the US Army is far outnumbered and outgunned by the citizens of the United States, which is why our forefathers enshrined Second Amendment rights in the order they did. The American Revolution began with writing pamphlets and escalated to armed conflict. Today’s landscape, though a bit more modern, is nearly the same. Bloggers and non-mainstream media have become the new voices of liberty. Tea Parties represent the anger of the people toward the modern-day King Georges running the political system and taxing us and our children out of existence, and the administration’s supporters are the traitor Torries.
Will it come down to another revolution where the “king’s” men suffer the wrath of average Americans? Will cold steel and hot lead become the only solution to the current political tyranny that encompasses every level of our political process? Only time will tell if our political leaders will force the hands of average Americans. A good beginning for Washington, however, would be to bend to the will of the people and scrap every last element of its health care overhaul and begin over — but only after they’ve held Town Halls to listen to the people and allow the people to participate in the political process, as our Founding Fathers established and intended. At this point, anything less will nearly force the people to take back control of the system — even if it’s by force of arms.
I served in the USMC during Vietnam including two tours “in country” and haven’t fired a weapon since 1969. I am planning to buy two guns because I fear that ultimately, the only way to stop the nonsense (much of it mentioned in this article), is to forcibly take back the country from looney tunes like the environmental radicals, man made global warming nutjobs, union thugs, academia, etc. Frankly, it pains me greatly to even entertain the possibility of armed revolt, but I suspect the present crowd in DC will NOT relinquish power, especially in 2012.
Marine,
You are not alone in your concern for the direction our country — and our freedoms — are headed. If someone told me that I would pen such a blog post ten years ago, I would have probably looked at them with a 1,000-meter stare. Unfortunately, it does not appear any politician “gets it,” and I say that without regard to party affiliation. Although the present administration is demonstrably more radical than any previous one in recent memory, the political system has been slowly inching the country toward this for decades. May God have mercy on them, because if they force Americans to the point of armed revolt, the people won’t have any mercy.
And just for the record, you guys kicked some serious butt in Viet Nam. You have every right to be proud of your service and the combat veterans who followed you since thank you for the job you did. Well done! Oooorah!

All obama will do is outsource anyways. Just think about the all the lobbyists flocking to Washington DC because of obama’s reckless over-spending of $2 TRILLION in just 6 months, which alone is increasing the National Debt by 20%.
Politicians take people’s money and reward the large corporations, in this case companies in the health care industry, since they have the money to more effectively lobby politicians. In the end smaller businesses will be hurt.
Politicians will only reward companies that will be in their best political interest. Honestly, when can you really trust politicians since they are basically professional liars, and being president just means you are the best liar of the time. Why not just give the money directly from the people to the companies and take politicians in government out of the equation?
obama is going to recklessly spend TRILLIONS of tax payers’ money just to give insurance to about 25% of those who do not have it. Over 50% of people’s income go towards taxes, just imagine how many more people will afford health care insurance if their income is almost doubled because of dramatic tax cuts.
Competition is what is needed. It lowers prices of products and services, along with developing new innovations. All of which will benefit consumers. You need to remember that monopolistic tendencies can also apply to government.
The reason why the cost of insurance is high is because politicians in government mandate insurance companies to increase their premiums to pay for ridiculous things. In addition, politicians put up regulations so that Americans are not allowed to get insurance from another state and use the coverage in their own state. This reduces competition making it more expensive for people to get insurance. On top of that medical professionals are not allowed to freely practice their profession in any US state without taking a long and tedious licensing process. This again increases the cost of medical insurance.
In the end, the problem with most economic issues is too much government intervention of the economy by politicians, who will only tend to do things for political self interest. Just like how obama nationalized GM to pander to its unions. Politicians can barely run government, yet people think they can run a multi-national auto manufacturing company?
The solution is SMALLER government, LESS spending, and LOWER taxes.
Sammy: you’re right on the mark. Wes: I’m with you my friend. I missed the war by a year but I’ve been in law enforcement since 1976 and I can assure you that cops will be part of the fight if necessary. We are not and won’t be government “thugs” to step on people’s rights, most of us WANT deserving citizens to carry weapons if they choose and not how we have been portrayed in the media. We all know right from wrong and we protect citizen’s rights every single day… we won’t stop.
Dave: I hope you are right about LE being part of the “good” side. I spent quite a few years in LE and some cops in our dept. scared the tar out of me with their badge heavy attitudes.
Sammy: Spot on about Obama spending trillions for a mere 25% if it is even that high. Do you have a link where I can read more about politicians mandating insurance companies raise their premiums? I find that too curious and too juicy to pass up.
I fear Americans are in for a rough time in the coming 3 years. However, this is the second issue the “commoners” have come out in mass over proposed legislation. The last big protest was over the idiotic amnesty bill. If they will only keep up the momentum and watch EVERYTHING the congress and senate does.
There are a number of elected folks becoming very worried over their seats…as they better be. I think we will see a wee bit of an upset in 2010 and hopefully that will send an impacting message to all sitting in D.C. ….enough is enough. And I so hope Pelosi and Reid (along with a few others)are kicked to the curb.
