Blood in the Streets Part V: We Can Do It!

2009 April 21

Why is the left so over the top in their criticism of Tea Parties? Because the parties are a threat to the left’s entrenched belief system and, considering Tea Parties are already garnering results, the left is more threatened than ever.

Neighbors helping one another, strangers reaching out to one another in love, and adults taking responsibility for children just do not fit with the left’s worldview. Moreover, the mainstream media has invested its very soul in maligning such activities in its support of government stepping into our lives as the “nanny state.” Unfortunately for the left and right, the average “Joe” doesn’t think the government “knows better” and the Obama administration provided the catalyst for the average American to say “enough” (even Miss California opposes bailouts and welfare). Enough of the government’s condescending arrogance, growth (regardless of which party is in power), unresponsiveness, and squandered tax dollars.

Here in Texas, a woman named Brenda Myers did the American “thing” after being injured by a drunk driver (no, she didn’t sue anyone). Brenda, while recovering from her injuries, noticed that children were dying far too young. As a result of this revelation, Brenda recognized a need and went about figuring out how to meet the need. Thus was born the The Community and Children’s Impact Center in Cleveland, Texas.

CCIC is a non-profit organization that relies on private donations not governmental largesse. CCIC is not some fancy non-profit that uses too much donated money to raise money, relying on grassroots support instead. CCIC is a humble organization focused on one thing: Our children — the very people that hold our country’s future in their hands.

In just under four weeks, CCIC is sponsoring its 3rd Annual Children’s Music Festival and the children need your support. They don’t need government in their lives, they need caring adults willing to do what adults used to do — watch out and over all the children in their neighborhood. Granted, the neighborhood has grown over the years (the internet is now part of the neighborhood), which just means we adults need to be more vigilant.

Brenda is making a difference in children’s lives one child at a time. I’m sure Ms. Myers would not hesitate to speak with you and let you know how you can help in this endeavor. You can reach her at (936) 499-2632.

Together, we can do it.
