Nothing Morally Wrong is Politically Right

Ethics? “We don’t need no stinking ethics!”

Whether it’s San Antonio cops posing in racy pictures on the job, Planned Parenthood workers breaking the law, a pharmacist scamming the government, brothels masquerading as modeling studios, or cheating college students, there is a dearth of ethical conduct in contemporary America.

Of course, we have to ask a fundamental question: How can we expect the average American to act any differently than their political leaders, Hollywood heroes, teachers, or parents?

We can’t.

Today’s culture, education system, political landscape, and media are saturated with the basest of sexual deviancy, immoral personal conduct, and example after example of rationalizing anything and everything imaginable — including torture, murder, rape, sodomy, etc. So why should anyone be worried about a little cheating in school?

Well, if one cheats in school, then why not cheat on one’s spouse? After all, it’s not like it’s “murder,” it’s just cheating!

If we accept that premise, how do we then rationalize the adultery victim’s emotions?

We don’t and we can’t. In most cases the couple will divorce, children’s lives will be shattered, and the selfish behavior of one party will create a devastating ripple effect that even impacts the economic well-being of their fellow citizens. Multiple case studies not only demonstrate the huge economic impact of divorce, but they also underscore the emotional devastation that is passed from generation to generation.

Suddenly, it doesn’t seem that cheating is so benign.

How about outright lies? You know, the “I never had sexual relations with that woman” or the “never minds” of Obamination’s campaign promises? Is there any impact from those lies?

Just ask your average American how much they “trust” their government! Of course there is a cause and effect related to politicians lying. And there are just as many cause and effect situations in and out of government, such as the Roman Catholic Church covering up the actions of pedophile priests, the media hiding the truth about Bill Ayers, President Bush referring to Islam as a “religion of peace,” pastors parsing scripture for personal gain, school teachers being forced to teach to the test, scientists playing politics for continued funding of what the researchers know to be a waste of money, universities discriminating against conservative students, governors giving gays a free pass to riot and attack heterosexuals (including elderly women), the national teachers union using dues to fund political candidates, etc., etc., etc. ad nauseum.

Is there a solution?

No.

We can beg, implore, attempt to engage the leftists in constructive dialogue, clean-up the church, but there is no solution because the cancer of unethical behavior is too ingrained within our societal fabric. In essence, considering the transparent nature of Obama’s lies, unethical conduct, unsupported promises, and racist supporters, this past election is a prima facie example of unethical conduct on the part of America’s citizens.

However, this doesn’t mean that we back off from fighting the good fight.

America needs citizens of steely resolve that are committed to behaving ethically whether someone is watching or not. For these will be the men and women who lead others when America collapses from within.
