UPDATE! “Cradle to Grave” and the “fruit” of the Left–Idol Worship and Poor Education: Why the Left gets it WRONG

2008 November 11

UPDATE (11 Nov 2008 @ 0954 hours): Well, the willful ignorance of the left is being paraded by CNN this morning. The mainstream outlet’s current lead story is titled, “WW II vet held in Nazi slave camp breaks silence: ‘Let it be known.’” Not only does this article underscore the shameful government treatment of veterans, it blows away the leftist notion that the military is a “socialist” institution. It took the 84 year-old Anthony Acevedo more than 50 years to obtain his rightful disability benefits from a government that lied to its own citizens about the war — a government led by leftists FDR and Truman. You can see Acevedo’s diary here and then read about a homeless veteran who is no longer a nomad. Only 134,000 more homeless vets to go this Veterans Day. Disgusting.

On a related note, Michelle Malkin has a tribute to veterans on her site today.

The first flaw in leftist thinking is a rejection of God. The second flaw is the creation of their own “god.” The third flaw is believing their pedantic schoolmarms (teachers and college professors) that posit conservatives are (a) evil, (b) uncaring, (c) stupid, (d) believers in mythology (the Bible as the inspired Word of God), (e) war mongers, and (f) all part of a gigantic “right-wing conspiracy.” Of course there are other reasons, but these are the “Big Three,” sorta like the “Big Three” the left now wants to bail out for the sake of union members. Union members whose uneducated blood-sucking paychecks, combined with leftist tax rates on business that are the second highest in the world, have forced many American businesses to outsource (let’s not forget Clinton’s NAFTA).

This past week we’ve seen a classic example of poor education. As a result, even military parents are deluded and leftist commenters besiege this blog with the “fruit” of skewed leftist thinking.

Below is classic leftist fruit that drips with arrogance and a lack of facts. My response to the comment is in bold, while the author’s writing is in italics

“Stop comparing apples to oranges. Capitalism and socialism are forms of economies (you know the distribution of wealth).”  Although this is partially correct from a theoretical basis, the architects of the former Soviet Union’s “communist government” held two things to be foundational to their normative pattern for government: “Democracy is indispensable to socialism” (Vladimir Lenin) and “The goal of socialism is communism” (Vladimir Lenin). Thus, we cannot necessarily disassociate economic theory from political theory, when the two are inextricably linked. The American left is enthralled with the idea of “democracy,” which the American Founding Fathers rejected and loathed for its immediate and final results: Totalitarian tyranny achieved by a 51% majority. This is why the Founders opted for a Constitutional Republic, which the Electoral College is part of. In other words, our system of electing our representatives is NOT based on the political form of government labeled “democracy.” The reality is this: Democracy and communism are synonymous when viewed from the standpoint of their results, which is dictatorial power. Of course, this is exactly what the left wants and why they are so enamored with the idea of democracy. Moreover, it is commenters such as this one that demonstrate a couple of glaring dangers to our Republic: First, the left fails to critically analyze what they are being taught and the means of indoctrination (the repeated “lie” that America is a democracy, a lie repeatedly told them by their leftist representatives and educators), which results in the left’s supporters continuing to feed at the trough of leftist indoctrination like Pavlovian Dogs. This is why so many on the right accuse the left of being “unthinking” and emotive. Secondly, this unthinking acceptance of twisted and skewed thinking, presented by their schoolmarms as “facts,” results in blindly following their little man-made “gods” who use their follower’s blindness to achieve their objectives, all the time knowing their followers are (a) stupid and (b) willing to be obedient slaves to their lies. Then they throw in a little good old fashioned dose of “liberal guilt” to manipulate the leftists masses to (1) ramp up their follower’s blind belief, even (2) emotionally manipulating those leftists who oppose abortion on moral grounds. The play book doesn’t change and neither does the followers’ response; followers the right considers brainwashed idolaters (with good reason). As for the distribution of wealth issue, the Founding Fathers believed that each individual should have the means to achieve, and hold onto, whatever wealth they could accumulate. And holding onto the wealth included the ability to pass an inheritance onto their children, in accordance with biblical principles, NOT have it taxed by the state for redistribution to another man’s children (think “Death Tax”).

“Democracy and Communist are forms of government (the distribution of power). Certain combinations of government and economies can be paired up and others can’t.” This is blatantly wrong. As noted above, democracy was rejected by the Founding Fathers as the quickest way to achieve a totalitarian regime, which communism is a classic demonstration thereof. Again, here is an example of unthinking acceptance of the indoctrination leftists have believed in for a number of generations in America. The reality, however, is quite different. Democracy and Communism are both totalitarian in practice and, therefore, should be considered synonymous instead of different.

“Now that you are educated on that subject. Another little tidbit. The US military is the largest socialist organization in this country. The military is taken care of from cradle to grave by our tax dollars – smells like a lot of socialism to me.” Wow! Here are a couple of classic leftist rants. First, lace the dialogue with sarcasm to demonstrate the left’s superior knowledge, a superiority they don’t enjoy because they don’t think and are easily swayed by emotive rhetoric (think Hitler here). Secondly, throw in the outright lies concerning the military being a socialistic institution to demonstrate why socialism is already an accepted practice in our country. Let’s dissect the leftist argument that the military is a socialist entity within a capitalist society.

First, military members are obligated to serve their fellow citizens instead of enjoying the fruit of others labor. They serve America by accepting poor wages instead of equal wages for equal work. They also sacrifice their very lives for the country in defense of the Constitution, NOT for themselves, but for their fellow citizens, as they do not enjoy the same constitutional protections their fellow citizens enjoy. For example,

-Military members live under a different set of criminal statutes than do their fellow Americans;

-Military members are denied disability benefits from the Veterans Administration if they cannot prove their disability is service-connected, and Americans have the full force of the federal government’s legal system fighting against veterans in their quest for benefits. Furthermore, if the veteran is injured while performing a classified mission, then those medical documents supporting their claim are forever barred from reaching the Veterans Administration;

-Although the military system labels a military member’s retainer check as a “retirement” check, nothing is further from the truth. All retired military members receive a retainer check. Since March 2003, I have watched eleven (11) of my “retired” friends called back to active duty. One of them, an attorney who was retired for twelve (12) years was called back to active duty and deployed to Iraq. He was NOT called back to serve as an attorney, he was called back to perform special operations. Another Soldier who worked directly for me and retired seven (7) years ago was recently called back to active duty, is now serving in Afghanistan, and was involved in the coalition response to the Kabul bombing that killed so many the other day. Keep in mind, this is just one retired Soldier (me) who personally knows eleven (11) “retirees” that have been called back to active duty. And let’s not forget the financial impact of such a call back and the suffering inflicted on their families, as a result of the associated financial loss and the stress of seeing their loved one sent back to combat once again;

-The “cradle to grave” argument is so flawed it’s a pathetic lie. One cannot even join the military until eighteen (18) years of age. In other words, it’s an adult decision. Throw in the federal government’s standing operating procedure of denying veterans their medical benefits for service-connected injuries, and we clearly see military members are NOT cared for to the grave either. This is also demonstrated by the number of non-governmental organizations that assist active-duty members in setting aside money for their “retainer check” lives, and we clearly see the lack of government involvement in the service member’s “cradle to grave” economic well being;

-The standard of medical care for military members and their families is far below that of a welfare recipient. Not only can military doctors have a history of medical malpractice, they can avoid certain licensing requirements that military attorneys cannot and the doctors who provide care to welfare recipients certainly cannot. Again, the cradle to grave argument is ludicrous;

-Unlike any other group of Americans, only military members can be ordered to their deaths. Thus, being “ordered” to your grave is a far cry from being “taken care of” until one’s natural death;

-Military members, despite having to demonstrate their physical ability to perform their mission twice a year, have far more health problems upon leaving the military than do their civilian counterparts. Currently, I work with a group of retainer-check recipients, and fifty percent (50%) of us have been diagnosed and treated for cancer before fifty (50) years of age. In each case, we all had to fight for the cancer to be deemed “service connected,” and I am the only one still fighting the Veterans Administration, and it’s been a three and one-half year fight thus far. Furthermore, each of us had to obtain a private physician — at our own expense — to support our service-connectivity claims. Please tell me what welfare recipient would have to go through such a process? They wouldn’t, and they would also have legal advocates to help them pro bono. Military members are barred by federal law from spending more than $10.00 for legal assistance and, even with the assistance of veterans organizations (Purple Heart, DAV, etc.), it is still the service member’s responsibility to obtain the requisite medical documentation in order for these vet organizations to render assistance.

It is obvious that leftist indoctrination knows no truth. Yet, they are willing to malign the very men and women who provide them their First Amendment rights, by dying for a piece of paper, so that the left’s members can continue their twisted rants and outright lies in the marketplace of ideas. Is it any wonder the left’s tawdry behavior is so offensive to thinking Americans?

Note: Since tomorrow is Veteran’s Day, how about thanking a vet? How about you leftists? Can you find it in yourselves to thank the very men and women who make daily sacrifices so you can ignorantly rant on?

    Question. Is this the same God that tells Baptists to picket Obama’s grandmother’s funeral?

    http://www.acouplethings.com/blog/2008/11/baptist-church-to-picket-burial-of-obamas-grandmother/

    Your silence is deafening.

    Scholar,

    You still are obviously in training. No Christian church I know of condones Westboro and, if you had an inkling of current events, you would already know this instead of engaging in the logical fallacy of “guilt by association” (in this case, the name “Baptist”).

    As for being silent, again, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Go to the Patriot Guard website and you’ll see just how loudly we deal with the Westboro folks.
