It’s ALL about Power–NOT the “little guy”
Lest anyone be fooled by the rhetoric of the Obama campaign, we’re already seeing the fruits of the little guy’s labor.
First, Obama has already selected a chief of staff that hardly qualifies as a “uniter.” Secondly, the Democrats are already using “data mining” for their personal use–the very same data mining they condemned when President Bush used it to protect the country from terrorists. As many of us on the right side of the aisle noted during the campaign, the left is not about “selfless service,” the left is about POWER and holding onto said power at any cost to the average American. Third, in addition to concerns about using Patriot Act initiatives to quash dissent, it would appear the Democrats have some very, very anti-American supporters who, as previously noted, HATE AMERICA. Fourth, the common man has never achieved a “bloodless revolution” as some pundits have posited over the last few hours. Throwing off the shackles of tyranny always costs human blood. Unfortunately, the histrionic members of The Obamination seem to have lost all sense of history. Fifth, if the conservatives are to regain power and bring peace and stability to American society, then the true conservatives must wrest power from the neo-cons and compromisers within its own ranks.
Although none of this comes as a surprise to conservatives, the leftists may find their lust for change, that was based on empty Hollywood-style “form over substance,” was not the change they bargained for–especially when that “change” are the remaining nickels and dimes in their pockets that are left over after Obama’s tax initiatives become law. Then again, given the hate-filled comments I received yesterday, perhaps the foot soldiers of the Obamination don’t care about losing their constitutional rights. After all, they’ve certainly proved their trust in man and man’s finite power over a trust in God’s infinite power.
There is still much to be learned about the Obama presidency in action, and only time will tell if his anti-constitutionalist remarks will come to fruition. Meantime, it certainly won’t hurt to do a couple of things. First, pray for “the heart of the king” and, second, invest in brass and lead–for they may be the only truly “precious metals” in the coming days.
I stumbled upon your blog yesterday – link by link. I so agree with what you’ve written. It’s amazing to me how so many Americans – not just The Left – have been so easily persuaded by the Obama rhetoric. I keep scratching my head and thinking – have they REALLY listened to what he’s saying (or NOT saying.) Doesn’t it matter who Obama has befriended and associated with? Has anyone on the left taken time to look at the community Obama supposedly organized – where crime is rampant, neighborhoods are slums, poverty is the norm? Is that what we want America to look like? It’s amazing to me how the Dems want to “save a tree” but don’t have a second thought about killing an unborn child. While this might seem trivial to some…how could anyone elect a PRESIDENT who will not cross his heart in allegiance to the American Flag? I could go on and on and on.
I’m an American Christian Conservative (I can hear the leftist sneers already.) While my heart is broken for the choice made on Tuesday, I will pray for our country and for Obama. It’s never been more important for Christians to be The Light in the darkness. This is NOT the time for us to be timid – we must stand for our faith and our values.
One more thought. As I believe the Bible is the Holy inspired Word of God, one thing I’ve never been able to wrap my mind around is, “How will the whole world be so gullible in the last days as to believe in the Anti-Christ? After watching the world embrace Obama and raise him to the level of one of their Hollywood Superstars, I have complete clarity to my previous confusion. The World will readily LUST AFTER (more than just accept) anyone that will promise them the hedonistic society they crave as long as he is charismatic and spews their humanistic agenda. Substance, values, moral character, will mean nothing.
May God have mercy on us all.
And Mark – keep up the good fight.
dvc (Sorry this is so long; appears I got carried away.)
Donette,
Thank you for your courageous comment. Yes, may God have mercy on all of us–including those who are deluded or have sold themselves to the things of this world.
Perhaps when all believers have callouses on their knees from intercessory prayer, we can say we’ve fought the good fight. Unfortunately, our biggest enemy is comprised of those things that steal our time from focusing on the important rather than the immediate.
So, with that in mind, give that cherub next to you an extra hug or three tonight.
In Him,
Mark
